Heritage Week nears FRIDAY, SEPT. 16 signals the beginning of a weekend packed with heritage events. A celebration coordinated by the communities of the North Shore, the program gets under way Friday evening with what promises to be a highly entertaining event. Ivan Sayers, well-known Vancouver fashion historian, will present “Fashions of the 1940s: a look back to the war years and to the conditions that determined the styles of both women’s and men’s cloth- ing.” The show will take place at the North Vancouver Museum. Saturday's events feature walking tours, free harbor tours, and a work- shop about caring for your old fami- ti ly photographs and treasures. A search for the remains of old logging and mining sites will be conducted during a hike in Lynn Headwaters Regional Park on Saturday.
