But that day has come, and
from a recent conversation it
would appear that the former
West Vancouver artist is still in
shock over the publication of
Benind the Chutes:The Mystique
of the Rodeo Cowboy (Whitecap
Books).

Norbury, who was born in the
Himalayas and schooled in Paris.
“Rodeo books don’t sell very
well and they (Whitecap Books)
were leery because of that. But the
beok is selling like hotcakes,
especially in places like Williams
Lake.”

For the past six years Norbury
has been hell-bent for anything
leather, invading rodeos as far
north as Smithers, B.C. and south
to Shiprock, New Mexico.
