She’s got that winning look

ASPIRATIONS of becoming a world-famous
model, working in New York and Paris, may not
be just a dream for 14-year-old West Vancouver

model Tiffany Burns.

has made the B.C. and Ca-
nadian finals. She will be

win,’’ Burns says. ‘We
thought the Canadian finals
would depend on how we
walked, we didn’t think it
would be after a personal in-

fecling from it — we were all
depressed.

“Then they were calling
the names and the other two
Vancouver girls were picked.
I was really happy for them.
1 figured they wouldn’t be
picking anymore from Van-
couver, and then I was the

relieved, tears were stream-
ing down my face. I heard
someone say get a picture of
the emotional one."”

Burns says she heard the
advertisement on the radio
and read in the newspapers
that John Casablanca's was
holding the contesi, sc she
thought she would enter.

modelling experience,’' the
five foot eight inch brunette
says. “But since the contest,
it's just starting to happen. [
have a shoot coming up with
Le Chateau, and we were
told there would be lots of
clients at the contests."”

As a career outlook,

Burns says if she can go far
in modelling she will, ‘‘1 re-
ally enjoy doing ramp
work,’’ she says. ‘You're
not frozen in time like you
are in pictures. But pictures
are exciting —- they're what
everyone connects with
modelling.

thought I might like to be a
photographer, but ! prefer
being the subject of the pic-
ture.”’

Burns says her look is a
