“Flight into Fashion 1983”
at the Inn at Denman Place
was like taking off in a plane,
it was a real high. Many
special people offered their
talents to put together a
snazzy production to show us
what is coming this spring.
Terry Moore and Shirley
Stocker, both from CKNW,
commentated as nine lovely
models (most of them
volunteers) sported the
newest looks from Holt

The clothes featured clear
bright hues like white,
yellow, raspberry, purple,
red and cobalt blue. It looks
like black and white will be a
popular combination for
both evening and_= sports
wear. This is definitely the
year for hnen, cotton and
raw silk in all sorts of pretty
colors.

Almost everything ts in the
naturat fibres this spring so It
looks hke we'll all be making
the most of our irons. The
fitness trend has had a great
influence on designers and
comfortable sporty wear
100% cotton seems to be the
rage. The walk around
cotton clothes like pedal
pushers or walking shorts are
big this season and would be
perfect for travelling or fora
hot sunny day in downtown
Vancouver.
