B.C. contributes to Vancouver bid The provincial govern- .-ment has agreed to con- tribute $37,500. toward the preparation of Vancouver's bid for the 1988 Winter Olympics. But Hugh Curtis, provincial minister of government services cautioned today that the grant, which will help Vancouver compete against Calgary for the Canadian bid to host the Games, should not be seen as carte-blanche provincial support. “If Vancouver is suc- cessful in getting the Canadian bid” Curtis stated, “the provincial governement will want to go through a rigorous and detailed review of the overall projected costs of the Olympics, not only to the province but to the city: of Vancouver.
