A recent study of ser-
vices in the Seymour
area for parents with
young children deter-
mined that the area is
lacking in its ability to
support families with
young children.

The study was commis-
sioned by the Seycove
Community Programs Society,
the group that. operates the
Seycove Community Centre,
and Family Services of the
North Shore.

Although the communities
of western and — castern
Seymour have the highest per-
centage in the district of
women with children under six
in the paid labor force, very
few services are offered in the
evenings and on weekends.
None specifically provide sup-
port and information to fami-
lies.

and caregivers in the commu-
nity.
