Established three years ago by the North Shore Arts Commission, the award recog- nizes homegrown talent who have risen to national or inter- national acclaim. Successful candidates will be honored at a FANS Award Night in October, a benefit for the Fund for the Arts on the North Shore (FANS), which assists artists and arts groups through grants and scholar- ships. Tast year’s FANS honorees include composer Jean Coulthard, singer Roy Forbes, and puppet makers Luman and Arlyn Coad nominee must be a living resident of the North Shore and have a substantial and nationally recognized body of work in the performing, liter- ary or visual arts.
