Men injured in boat fire TWO BOWEN Island residents suffered burns to their arms after a boat engine they were working on at Sunset Marina caught fire. West Vancouver District Fire Department firefighters were called to a float at the marina at 3:24 5.m. Thursday. According to a fire department spokesman, boat owner Doug Jamieson and Peter Kennedy jumped off of Jamieson’s Sangster power boat and into the ocean after their clothes caught fire. Jamieson subsequently climbed back on to the float and put out the fire with a fire extinguisher. Kennedy was taken to Lions Gate Hospital, suffering possible ‘third degree burns to his arms. Jamieson suffered first degree burns to his arms. Investigators believe the fire was caused by gas leaking on to the boat engine, which was on at the time of the incident. The victim is relieved of her cash and told that the money will be returaed to her account. Said Sims: ‘‘They are slick and very sophisticated. We had two ia Vancouver (Thursday) and for various reasons we were able to circumvent them. One tady had almest $4,000 cash on her.
