House director appointed

NORTH SHORE Neighbourhood
House, soon to celebrate its 50th
birthday, has a new” executive
director.

Don Rutherford brings many
years of experience in the field of
social services with him to the job.
He will be responsible for the
overall}. operation of Neigi:bour-
hood House, managing day-to-day
activities as well as laoking at
long-range planning.

Rutherford succeeds
Sabourin as director.

“He left Neighbourhood House
in excellent shape,’’ Rutherford
said.

Two major projects will occupy
much of Rutherford’s attention
during the next few months, star-
ting with a renovalion program,
which will focus on the day-care
area on the lower floor, and the

“Personally, I’d like to see the
culturual arts aspect looked at
more — particularly for seniors
and teens,’ Rutherford said.
