She will also show how fr‘ends and family members can participate in that process. Very busy with a private practice in West Vancouver, Easton is the first vice-president of the Canadian National Organization for Widows and Widowers and a founding member of Widows Network on the North Shore. Distinguished within the field of psychiatry, Parkinson has also been a strong supporter of post secondary education in B.C., and active within the CCF and NDP. Raised in the ethnic community of North Winnipeg, of Lan- cashire-born parents (his father was a founding secretary in the North Winnipeg Independent Labor Party and CCF), Parkinson was active in many organizations in his youth and has remained ac- tive throughout his life. Having served with the army medical corps and as flight sergeant with the RCAF medical services, Parkinson went on to earn a medical degree at UBC and specialize in psychiatry at McGill.
