Say NO to School Re-Zoning

You elected your School Board to use all means at our disposal to provide
the best possible education for the children of West Vancouver.

That includes making the best possible use of the tand purchased by this
and previous School Boards over the years.

Today, your School Beard is deeply concerned about the serious impact on our children’s
future education of a proposal to re-zone al! school property in the District of West Vancouver.

According to independent real estate professionals, this re-zoning proposal now under con-
sideration by West Vancouver Council would slash the practical value of your school proper-
ty by $165 million.

Such a reduction in value would, in turn, eliminate your School Board’s ability to undertake
even modest revenue-generating developments on any of this property...

* Developments that could mean millions of badly needed dollars annually fo
education at a time of shrinking provincial funding .. .

® Developments on surplus land that would not involve any existing schools or
_ permanent loss of schoot property . . .

¢ Developments that could fill pressing community needs .. .

* Developments over which Council and your community would still have full
planning contrel.

As West Vancouver taxpayers, you own this properiy. You have the rigtit to say NO.

Let the Mayor and Council know what you think. Call and ask them to re-think this costly
re-zoning idea.
