Asa continuing feature in the North Shore News, this article provides an update on the construction of the new building to house the North Vancouver Detachment of the RCMP and the North and West Vancouver Emergency Program. The building is being undertaken as a joint project between the District of North Vancouver and the City of North . Vancouver. THE NEW building wil] be located at the corner of 14th Street and St. Georges Avenue, adjacent to the existing RCMP building. The building will con- sist of two levels of under- ground parking and three levels - of above-grade office. The intent of the participation was to achieve a building that functionally would meet the needs of the RCMP and the emergency program, and architec- turally, would achieve a design reflective of the North Shore com- munity, most notably, the mountains, sky and water. The site will include a park near the main entrance to the building off 14th Street.
