McDowell tells me that entertainer
Harry Belafonte was very happy
during his recent visit to Van-
couver and with his two sold-out
concerts at the Q.E.T. Harry
sounded and looked great! He did
use a cane because his receni
knee surgery is still mending, and
he has to wear an ankle-to-thigh
brace.

Despite this handicap, he’s been
touring right across Canada with
17 concerts in 13 cities and Craig's
been travelling with him.

“One of the frustrations in Van-
couver occurred when Harry ex-
pressed a desire for Chinese food
after his Saturday night perfor-
mance. Craig called a new
Chinese restaurant to confirm that
they would definitely be open for
Mr. Belafonte after the perfor-
mance. After limping tiredly out of
his limo, Harry discovered they
were closed.

And that’s why all the folks at
McDonald’s at Alberni and
Thurlow had a chance to say
“Hil to this internationally
known star, who was busily
devouring a Filet of Fish, large fries
and a vanilla milkshake!...
