The Bantams opened tourna- ment play Nov.21 with an 8-2 vic- tory over Cloverdaiz. Brad Pennyfather scored a hat trick in the game, while Ryan Paul scored two goals and Kevin Han- son and Wade Fisher added singles. Paul was selected the game’s most valuable player (MVP). In the first game on Saturday, the home team defeated West Van 6-2, Pennyfather and Jason Witzel scored for West Van. Nigel Parish played a strong defensive game and was selected the game’s MVP. In its second game on Saturday, West Van eusily handled the North Island entry, outscoring them 7-1. RINGETTE LIONS LOSE TO POCO NORTH WEST Vancouver Ringette Association’s Petite A Lions lost to Poco 5-3 in recent league play despite a good overall team effort. Kari Jesson, Jill Calkin and Michelle Keast all played well for the Lions. In other action, the Tween B Hawks tied Fraser Valley 4-4 with an excellent game from Tracey Reynolds. The Tween B Eagles, mean- while, defeated the North Shore Winter Club by a score of 7-5. Erin Bell played a strong game defensively for the Eagles. .
