Playhouse week ends IT WAS Vancouver Playhouse Week from September 20 to 26 in North Vancouver City, in honor of the 20th anniversary of the Vancouver theatre organization. North Van Mayor Jack Loucks told City council in making the proclamation that he realized it was “unusual in a sense” to name a week for a Vangouiver group, but the Playhouse and other Vancouver organizations do benefit the whole Lower Mainland. The proclamation states that the Playhouse has “through its programs and special productions for ial : FINDING A BOMB in the American Embassy was just one hazard faced in the Woody Allen farce “Don't Drink th schools aided in the education of children in Vancouver, the Lower Mainland, and throughout the Province of British Columbia,’’ and will “continue to produce live professional theatre of the highest quality for the citizens of Vancouver and the surrounding municipalities. It will continue to present original Canadian plays as well as productions from the major theatrical centres of the world.” Vancouver Playhouse has presented more than 150 live productions during its 20 years.
