Chrysler’s Neon compact
sets standard for small cars

With state-of-the-art safety and
technical features, the two sedans
will certainly raise some eyebrows
among the Japanese and European
automotive executives.

Designed in conjunction with
Ford’s European office, the new
sedans are said to incorporate the
best of North American and -
European car attributes: vibrant
powertrain, smooth ride, sharp
handling, and balanced feel.

The Contour and Mystique look
somewhat like their larger Titurus
and Sable sedans, but with a hint
of European flair here and there.

Chrysler — which has been the
centre of media attention lately
with its award-winning “team”
oriented vehicle development pro-
gram — has more heavy hitters in
the works.

publicized Neon compact vehicles,
which should be arriving at. dealers
soon,

Further down the road — prob-
ably in the fall — Chrysler will
introduce another cab-forward
designed car: the mid-sized sedan
