Burglary charges

A BURGLARY suspect was arrested on Tuesday (Aug.
9) after being seen getting into a taxi in frant of the
alleged crime scene in the 1400-block of Chesterfield
Avenue in North Vancouver.

According to a North Vancouver RCMP spokesman,
a resident confronted an unknown man coming out of an
apartment suite at 10:30 a.m. Police say the suspect
allegedly dropped the items he was carrying and ran out
of the building.

Based on the resident's description of the suspect, the
taxi was pulled over and the man was detained. Police
say the suspect allegedly possessed two stolen watches.

Bruce Morris Miskiman, 26, of Surrey, was charged
with possession of stolen property, possession of house-
breaking instruments and break, enter and theft in con-
nection with the incident.

Slippery suspects

TWO NORTH Vancouver men were up the creek when
they were arrested on Aug. 1 in connection with a bur-
glary in the 900-block of West Isi Street in North

Vancouver.

The suspects, Edward Brian Paul, 24, and Merle
Lawrence Aragon, 22, were tracked by a police dog to
McKay Creek where they were found waist-deep in
water, according to a North Vancouver RCMP
spokesman. The police dog was called out after 2 watch-
man allegedly saw two men climb out of the building
supplies compound of the business and leave the area at
approximately 2 a.m. The suspects have appeared in
court on a break and enter charge.

‘Bank payback

A 20-YEAR-OLD Burnaby man was recently required to
pay $7,100 restitution to a North Vancouver City bank in
connection with a charge of using forged withdrawal slips.

Andrew Donny Sikic pleaded guilty to the charge stem-
ming from incidents that happened between April 28,
1992, and May 28, 1992, He received 12 months’ proba-
tion and was required to de 100 hours of community work
service, Sikic was sentenced on July 12.

WV police

WEST VANCOUVER Police
seized a sawed-off shotgun from two
males on July 28. Police are seeking
help in determining the weapon's
origin.

“We believe the weapon may
have been stolen during a break and
enter (burglary) and altered by the
suspects,” said Const. Jamie Gibson.

The shotgun is described us being
a [2-gauge shotgun with side-by-
side double barrels. double trigger
and an automatic safety,

The weapon is J.P. Sauer & Sons
fluid steel with Krupp Essen
stamped on the barrel. It has a wal-
nut stock. “Made in Prussia” is
stamped in the metal.

Anyone with information about
this shotgun is requested (o contact
