A MESSAGE in a bottle meant a prize for this family.
North Vancouver City children’s librarian Joyce Moller
threw the bottle from the Seabus on June 8 and it was
spotted floating near the Coal Harbour shoreline on July
13. Alan and Nancy Schwingenschloegl, shown with son
Jeffrey, returned the bottle, which was set adrift as part
of the library’s summertime Treasure Seekers reading
program. Moller is shown presenting the book prize to
the family.

foot wide concrete lined road which ran along Marine
Drive from the foot of 14th Street at the old Ferry Landing
to Dundarave and beyond was exposed. An old timer
remembered with a smile on his face how he used to ride
his bicycle along the ‘‘modern road'’
