hailing from Vancouver, has
recorded three critically
acclaimed LPs and _ has
opened for such groups as
the Kinks and Foreigner.

His songwriting efforts
have been recorded by such
well known performers as
Bob Welch and Loverboy.
But it wasn’t until the release
of “Cuts Like A Knife,” from
his current LP, that he at-
tained recognition on his
own merit.

Adams figures that his
new-found popularity is due

almost no formal training.

“I had two piano lessons
and hated them. I had two
guitar lessons and _ hated
those. So, I decided to figure
it out for myself.”

Although success struck at
an early age, it wasn't easy
for Adams to come by a
record deal. “I tried like
crazy to get a record deal
when I was 18. Every record
company wanted to reject
me...”

Last year when he wanted
to name an LP, Bryan
Adams Hasn't Heard of You
Either, his recording
company wasn’t amused and
nixed the idea. However,
with his most recent album,
Cut's Like a Knife currently
atop the chart and recently
certified platinum (sold one
million copies in the U.S.),
Adams is hardly a stranger
