Y . on ~ . Se oe ln North Shore Winter Club Marlins helped the Coquitlam Swim Club celebrate its twentieth anniversary by providing winnets in every age group, and by collecting two in- dividual aggregate trophies. Elaine Prescott was one of the aggregate champions, breaking the pool record in the 100 m backstroke by over twoseconds in .the process. She also won the 50 m Fly for 13-14 year olds, picked up two strong second place finishes and powered her medicy relay team to victory, with the help of Megan Smith, Joanne Leonard and Dianne Ford. This success inspired Ford to go on to win the 100 m Breaststroke in impeccable style. Joe Tadcy won his second individual aggregate THEY CAME BY CRUISE SHIP, and they lost. His first places in the Breast, Free and Individual Medley events were hotly contested by team-mates Pat Smith and Doug Habkirk. ' It took another Marlin, Dave Hoiles, to move Tadey out of top spot in the 100 m Backstroke- Hoiles came first and Tadey second in that event. Tadey, Smith, Hoiles and Habkirk were too strong for any of the competition in the relays, winning both the 100 m Medley and 200 m Freestyle races. Karen Allen finished strongly to win the 15-16 year olds 100 Backstroke, closely followed by ‘Catherine Tadey in third place. Catherine did well to take fourth place in the breaststroke final. Allen and amateur Tadey combined with Sheila Habkirk and Sharon Green to pull out two very fine relay performances and pick up second place ribbons in both the Medley and Freestyle relays. Relay strength seems to run through the Marlins’ roster. , The t1-12 year old boys freestyle team, made up of Wade Bartok, Stephen Harris, Stephan Kloepzig and Darren Lee Mfnished third in a very close race. The girls in this group never disappoint: Michelle Page, Michelle Green, Maren Tollestrup and Shannon Webster com- pletely dominated the 200 m Free Relay. Shelley Webster, in the 9 10 group had an excellent meet. TENNIS ANYONE??
