Housing sales continue to
outpace 1988 levels in the
two Alberta cities and selling
prices are up in the 10 per
cent range, according to the
most recent issue of the
Royal LePage Survey of
Canadian House Prices.

While housing values in
Toronto and Vancotiver are
considerably ahead of last
year’s levels, the markets in
both cities have cooled off in
recent months and prices
appear to have stabilized.

In cities like Montreal,
Winnipeg and Halifax/
Dartmouth, there have been
little or no gains in housing
prices and, in some cases,
the price of certain housing
categories in these centres
has croded in the past year.
