Both teams were put together folowing the New South Wales State Championships. ' which wrapped-up just 10 days prior to the start of the B.C. tour. Most of the funding for the tour was generated through community involvement back in Oz. Geoff Brady, an assistant man- ager for the women’s under-19 team and a teacher at a school of 600 students in the town of Goulburn, was pleased with the way the community got behind the tour. “The support was just wonder- ful.” said Brady. “We raised $26,000 for the girls, and this was done only five weeks prior to com- ing over.
