Annual Fred Page Midget AAA
Hockey Tournament. A total of
16 teams in three divisions will
play, with teams representing the
Lower Mainland, the Interior,
Vancouver Island, Seattle, and
Portland. Games are scheduled
from 7 a.m. to ti p.m. each day.

Divers don’t
qualify

NEAR WAS as good as a2 miss
this weekend for diver Paige Gor-
don of West Vancouver.

Gordon finished third on the
10-metre platform and fourth on
both the one-metre and three-
metre springboard at the world
diving trials in Winnipeg.

However, only the top two fin-
ishers in each event qualified to
represent Canada at the World
Aguatic Games this January in
Perth, Australia.

Gordon was a bronze medalist
in the Commonwealth Games last
January in New Zealand.

Her older sister, Megan Gor-
don, finished sixth on the 10-
metre platform this weekend.

Flames in 2nd

THE NORTH Shore Winter Club
Flames are sitting in second to last
place in the West Coast Junior
Hockey League despite the high
scoring of Brad Costa.

Costa is the league’s third top
scorer with 37 points in 17 games,
including 22 goals and 15 assists.

Meanwhile, the flames are
laboring under a 5-12-0 record,
just narrowly ahead of the
Grandview Steelers.
