After greeting our friend and his date, who had al- ready been seated, we gasped as we focused on the next table. The couple there seemed inno- cent enough until we spotted the young woman’s breasts. She was seated across from ber date, 20 we had the side view. Without straining, one could see down to her navel. At times she would try #2 caver up, because of the obvious chatter from neigbor- ing tables. At other tizaes she would sit back and arch her back, so all was shown. She knew what she was doing. Our friends sat with their backs to her but were aware of the situa- tion. While we were conversing with them, the woman’s breasts were in full view. An otherwise worderful evening should zo‘ be subjected to this sort of exposure. What, if anything, could have been done to change the situation? Should we have just sat there aad pretended she was ouiy a loud barking dog? But, why bother? The offence was not comparable to that of a barking dog; a sight at a neighbor- ing table is more easily avoided than a loud noise emanating from it. It is not polite to stare at other diners, for whatever reason. However, if you could not take your eyes off this sight, you could have solved the problem by quietly asking to change tables.
