BONNIE WITTMEIER’S
gymnastic prowess has earn-
ed the North Vancouver
woman a momination for
junior athlete of the year for
1984in B.C.

Witimeier, a member of
the Flicka’s Gym Clyb, was

achievements at meets ‘rang-
ing from the North Shore
invitational to the 1984
Olympic Games where her
performances highlighted the
efforts of the Canadian
women's team.

Others nominated in the
junior athlete category are

hockey player Ryan Stewart.

Winners of the B.C.
athlete of the year awards
will be announced at a
Sports B.C. banquet on
March 9.

Nominated for senior
athlete of the year honors
are Hugh Fraser, Olympic

Funk, the gold medallist in
rhythmic gymmastics, and
Chris Rinke, who won a
bronze medal in wrestling at
the Olympics.

A fourth medal winner,
Simon Fraser University
wrestler Bob Molic, has been
nominated in the university
