YMCA Sparca gym club expanding program Former West German gymnast heads staff Gymnastics has always been an important part of the North Shore Family YMCA. This fall the ‘Y" is offering recreational and competitive classes for every age. Annette Denk. former gyMnasuics competitor and coach in West-Germany 1s directing all gymnastics programs with headcoaches Nicky and George Carroll and a total coaching staff of twenty. All coaches are highly qualified instructors and our goals are to develop physical fitness and to promote the enjoyment of the sport to Tecreational and compettive gymnasts. In the past years the YMCA-Sparca compeutive team has been very suc- cessful competing at regional and = provincial championships and = are looking forward to another busy and rewarding year. This year the club ts also offenng a special “display group” for gymnastics which can be descnbed as a skill learning program winch emphasizes exhibitions displays rather gymnastic and team than com- petinons. The tryout date for all competitive and display group gymnastics will be Friday, September 12 4:30 6:30 atthe 'Y’. All persons trytng out for these teams should have some expenence.
