Two teenagers standing in the stairwell of a bus at Lonsdale Quay around 10:40 p.m. were asked by the driver to either climb aboard or move out of the way te allow other passengers on the bus. In response, one of the teens headbutted the driver. Coast Mountain Bus Company spokesman Mike Bellavy said other bus opera- tors waiting at the Quay stepped into help control the situation. The teenager was age 15 when she allegedly murdered Zach Steudle, a 17-year-old Ladysmith resident. Steudle’s badly decomposed body was found on Sept 21, 1997 under the Nelson Creek Bridge on the Trans-Canada Highway near Horseshoe Bay. He was believed to have died on Aug. 30, 1997. The accused teenager allegedly pushed him off the bridge after becoming enraged that Steudle had made a pass at her les- bian partner.
