activities for summer

WEST VANCOUVER Recreation Centre has lined up
a summer full of activities to help celebrate the
municipalitity's 75th anniversary.

Summer programs for children aged three to 14
years begin July 6, operating on a weekly schedule
through until August 14.

For working parents, the recreation centre has add-
ed a new program called the Summer Program Con-
nection. Operating from 7:30 to 9 a.m. and from 3 to
6 p.m., the program is designed for children registered

Cadets seek
instructors

THE HONORABLE Clarence
Wallace Navy League Cadets is
looking for officers and instr:ictors
to join the ship’s company.

The Navy League Cadets is a
volunteer organization that teaches
boys and girls, aged 10 to 13 years,
about the navy. There are openings
for positions in teaching and ad-
ministration. All classes are of a
naval background.

Men and women interested
should be 18 years of age or older.
A prior navy or sea cadet
background is an asset but not
necessary. The Navy League
Cadets provides a uniform and of-
“ficer’s training.

evenings from 6:30 to 9 p.m. and
holds administration nights on
Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and the
edd weekends. Anyone interested

on Tuesday or Thursday nights to
1555 Forbes Avenue at 16th St.

Special events that everyone from preschooler to
senior can enjoy include the annual family picnic on
July 22 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Ambleside Park and the
summer carnival on August 14 from 10 a.m. to I p.m.
