The cause of their anger is unrelated to the book and is bused on a misunderstanding that they refuse to give me the op- portunity to clear up. I have been hurt by their sudden and complete rejection, but have complied with their request and am not in touch with either. 1 do not know what book- acknowledgment etiquette calis for. Were E still on speaking terms with these people, [ would not hes- itate to thank both by name. Since they wish to forget that I exist, however, perhaps it woutd be more appropriate to avoid mention of either of them. This is what my friends tell me. But Lami not con- vinced.
