With the exception of one or wo centres, home buying activity and house price in- creases have been much more, moderate this year in most parts of the country. According to the Royal LePage Survey of Canadian House Prices released tecently, the resale housing market in most cities is ex- periencing healthy levels of demand. Price increases, however, are more moderate than those of last year. RATES DECLINE “Most local economies are in relatively good shape,” comments Ozzie Jurock. president, Royal LePage - Residential Real Estate Ser- vices. “Interest: rates have declined’ slightly in’ recent months and are expected to * ducing for some time. These factors are keeping consumer con, fidence levels high and pro- active real estate markets.
