IT ISN'T every day that firefighters put the torch to houses but some-
times fire departments must do it. [Cs all for the cause of saving lives, of
course, The North Vancouver District Fire Department recently set this
old cottage in the Norgate area alight ¢o give its rookie firemen a chance
to practise putting out fires first hand. Above, Assistant Chief Steve Bush
gives a rookie hosing advice. Even firefighters get to break tor coffee.

Jim Booneville take a break,
