Pegasus advanced to the
finals of North Shore In-
dustrial Soccer League
Sunday, as both turned in
upset wins, ,
Pegasus knocked off N.S.
Darkroom, handing them
only their second loss of the
season, since the first game
back in October. Mean-
while, Firemen disposed of
the North Shore News in the
other semi.

However, neither
Darkroom, league champs,
nor the News went down
without a fight, as both
games were decided on
penalty shots. Pegasus and
Darkroom were left at 1-1
when regular time ended,
and failed to prove anything
in either of two 15-minute
overtime periods.

Ken Deas had given
Darkroom a 1-0 first-half
lead but Pegasus striker Rick
Pimlott evened the count
late in the second half.
Pegasus controlled most of
the overtime session but
were” unable to score.
Pegasus took the penalty
shots, ahd a chance to play
in the final, as they out-
scored Darkroom 4-3 on the
shots.

The News jumped to an
early 2-0 lead five minutes
into the second half and
were controlling the game
up to that point. However,
midway through the second
half the Firemen came to
life. The turning point
seemed to be a penalty shot
as a News defenceman was
called for tripping inside the
area. Bob Brigham scored
from the dot, which seemed

net. Minutes later, with the
overtime running out
Fireman goaltender, Robin
Tadd stopped .a. blast from
News midfielder Drew
Finerty from a point blank
range. The save sent the
burly keeper to the hospital
with a dislocated finger.

Greg Smith was forced to
play the net and did the job
stopping two penalty shots,
while the Firemen shooters
only fanned on one, giving
them the win.
