The litde field on the banks of the
Fraser just outside of Fort Langicy is busy
today, The bright sunshine feels more like
May than March. There’s a breeze too.
The orange windsock on top of the
scabrous open-sided hangar snaps to
attention. ;

Conditions are pertect for soaring. The
lawnmower-like ultralites and more fragile
hang gliders are out in force.

Two distinct crowds of enthusiasts are
working cooperatively as gliders and tow
planes ‘are’ constantly pushed on and off
the short grass runway to make room for
