Harpreet Paul.

The child was left is her parents’ unlocked 1979 white and
yellow Chrysler Cordoba at the rear of the Coquitlam Centre
: shopping mall at about 8 p.m. oa May 39.

: The baby was sleeping in the rear seat of the car in a grey car
: seat. When the parents returned to the car 20 to 30 minutes later,
aan both the child and her cay seat were missing. No trace of either

r™ has been found since.

Thieves make off
with banner

IT WAS a banner day for thieves recently when a Canada
Employment Hire-A-Student banner was stolen from the Park
Royal overpass.

The banner, which had been secured with chain and lock to the
metal railing of the overpass, disappeared sometime between June
8 and June 10.

It was taken after thieves apparently cut around the chain with
a knife.

Said Darin Froese of the North Vancouver Canada Employ-
ment Centre for Students, ‘‘The banner generated many jobs for
students from local North Shore residents.”’

Man found
guilty of theft

. A 20-YEAR-OLD man of no fixed address was sentenced June 8 in
- North Vancouver provincial court to four months in jail after he
was found guilty of theft and possession of stolen property.
Steven Douglas Bain was originally charged in connection with
( an Aug. 3, 1989 incident in which a licence plate and an
8 * automobile were stolen from North Shore Mazda.
oe, He was charged with possession of stolen property following an
Rk . Aug. 5, 1989 seizure of an automobile in the Sechelt area.
In addition to the jail term, Bain was piaced on probation for
two years.

weapon charge

A NORTH Vancouver man faces a charge of possession of a
weapon dangerous to the public peace following an altercation at
a towing compound located at Third Street and Lloyd Avenue in
se North Vancouver.
Calvin Gene Washington was arrested following a disturbance
that allegedly involved a baseball bat.
The disturbance resulted after a vehicle had been towed.
