PEAT MOSS vs MUSHROOM MANURE
These are both excellent products for soil conditioning, but
all too often used improperly, resulting in damage to expen-
sive plant material.

For a simple rule-of-thumb, use peat moss (slightly acidic)
in areas containing broad leaved evergreens such as
camellias, azaleas, rhodos, heather, etc. *.lushroom ma-
nure (from horses) is alkaline, and is great for your vege-
table garden, and deciduous shrubs and trees, but can
damage rhodos and similar shrubs. Both products can be
used quite liberally - we recommend using a 21 litre bag on
approximately 50 square feet.
