Dirty carb can

stop you cold

WITH THE average car on the
road now approaching seven years
of age, there are more and more
vehicles on the road vulnerable to
carburetor trouble.

The reason, according to the Car
Care Council of the Automotive
Industries Association of Canada,
is that this and other elements of
the fuel system seldom get any at-
tention until trouble develops.

Hesitation on acceleration or
surging when you are driving at a
constant speed. are two early warn-
ing signs to-remind you that your
car’s carburetor may need service.
If your car has sluggish accelera-
tion or is bucking at cruising
speed, it may be due to a lean
condition in the carburetor.

It’s a sign that the fuel filter may

when car owners fail to have fuel
filters replaced or when they buy
sub-standard fuel, can clog carbu-
