North Vancouver finished first in regular season play followed by Richmond, North Shore Winter Club and Burnaby Minor. Losing its first game 4-3 to Burnaby Minor and its second to NSWC 3-2, the North Van team battled back with four straight wins, starting with a 4-3 victory over Richmond. Henrik Solin and Mike Stuart led the Pacific Coast North Van offence with two goals each. The North Van team then defeated Burnaby Minor 5-3 with two goals by Wyn Griffith and singles from Stuart, Eric Kaufmann and Henrik Solin. Goaltender Bill Holburn stopped 25 shots in the win. The Midgets then blanked NSWC 5-0 led by two goals from Gord Green and three assists by Kevin Shepherd. With a win over Richmond in the final game essential to their advan- cing to the finals, North Van won 4-2 with two goals by Stuart and singles by Cory Tardiff and Pat Sutherland. Frank Kristen turned away 29 shots for his third win of the series. North Van will now play Coquitlam for the PCAHA title. The second game is scheduled to be played at the North Vancouver Recreation Centre 2:45 p.m. March 8.
