“I truly believe that the marriage of the past
decades are going to be more apparent,” says
the owner of Hair Mode on Marine Drive in
North Vancouver. ~

Some key hair trends of the past: the smooth’
classic looks of the *40s, pulled-back: ponytails -

of the °50s; long and straight i in the carly °60s
and the ‘bubbler cuc at the end of the decade;
Beatles haircuts for men, Farrah Fawcett feath-
ering and the “shag” in the °70s; spiked and
multi-coloured hair of the New Romantics in
the "80s and the Friends *do of the "90s.

For the future, Robathan sees a merger of a

majonty of these styles.
