Speaking ata special cere mony, held atthe new Hong Kong International Airport, Y. S. Lo, chairman of the HKTA, said, “Since this is a large-scale initiative, we will be marketing Discover very aggressively overseas. We are contident that it will help to assure cur potential visitors that Hong Kong is very much alive and well, and offers a wide range of options for i its Visitors —- year: round.” Discover complements the HKTA’s We Are Hong Kong - City of Lite marketing cam- paign launched a year ago, and is designed to highlight Hong Kong's diversity. It showeases five specific aspects of Hong Kong, selected especially to raise worldwide awareness of the diversity and excitement of the City of Life. These five cat- egorics are: Best Buys, Origins, Sights, Feast and Happenings. From April 1999 to March 2000, varied activities and special promotions highlighting the main attractions or features of each theme will be organised under cach of these categories. One special feature of Discover is the HK VIP Card, which will give visitors to Hong Kong even better value for money than ever before. All cardholders will be entitled ro spe- cial discounts and deals at some 700 of Hong Kong’s most fashionable retail outlets and restaurants. The VIP Card will be available through the HKTA Information & Gift Centres and hotels in Hong Kong.
