PATRICIA HOEBIG wants to
spread the word about the calibre
of music instruction available to
youngsters on the North Shore.

Hoebig is convenor for the
North Shore branch of the B.C.
Registered Music Teachers’
Association’s Showcase ‘91.
Beginning this Saturday, students
of piano, stringed instruments and
voice will perform at Park Royal
North to help promote the the
Music Teachers’ Association.

“I call it a monster concert,’’
says Hoebig. ‘There will be con-
tinuous performances given by
beginner and advanced students of
37 music teachers.”’

Music Festival, held March 10-22.

According to Hoebig, many
North Shore parents looking for
musical instruction for their
children are unaware of the ser-
vices offered by the Music Teach-
ers’ Association.

“We realized that awareness
isn’t where it should be, that
we're not liaising enough with the
schools. We have an incredibly
alive musica! life here but we find
we're (Music Teacher’s Associa-
tion) operating in a vacuum.”’

Programs for Showcase ’91 are
available at Ward Music. The
concert runs from 10 a.m. to 5
p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, and from
noon to 5 p.m. Sunday Feb. 24,
