Man drowns in Indian Arm

A 70-YEAR-old Vancouver man
drowned in Indian Arm Oct. 7
after falling from a boat docked at
Iron Bay.

The North Shore Lifeboat
Society (NSLS) Deep Cove rescue
vessel was disvatched by the Vic-
toria rescue centre at 1:40 a.m.
The lifeboat transported North
Vancouver unit B.C. Arnbulance
Service advanced fife support
paramedics to the scene.

water and were administering CPR
at the dock by the time rescue per-
sonnel arrived.

He was found to be under car-
diac arrest. Attempts to revive the
man failed.

According to a NSLS
spokesman, the man had been
boating with friends whose boats
were docked at Iron Bay, and ap-
parently fell when he attempted to
step on to a dock.
