We were the first house on our street and when people asked, ‘Where do you live?" J always said, “In the bush!” which was true. Our most enjoyable trip was into Lynn Valley. We went swinging, with beating hearts, over the suspen- sion bridge. In Austria, Vienna, where my husband and I came from, we always went into the country in the summer because it was very hot in town. For many days there we went mushroom picking and so crossed the suspension bridge. We ate the mushroans fresh and we dried them for the winter, We also swam in the Lynn Creek. Oh, it was very cold but J was used to cold water, as many times | swam and crossed the Danube which flows close to Vienna. We had lots of picnics near the creek and our son Michael, then eight years old, had a good time there and we enjoyed it very much. So I wish happy birthday to Lynn Canyon Park and great enjoyment for young and old. for many genera- tions to come! One of the respon- sibilities of a good journalist is that of watchdog to the public. The episode of the Amelie has shown an immigration ministry in shambles, a real idiot’s delight. The prospects of employment for the feebleminded are great in the immigration service from minister to desk clerk. Well-paid jobs are available to the brainless and those with no common sense. How else could one explain why no person in immigration is capable of distinguishing between simple truths and lies? The im- migration department seems to have a preference for those wanted for criminal activities in other countries, Ng and Satiacum to name a few.
