Tour China with Cap C Tel. 980-0511 Unique approach to travel and learning In June, with the full permission of the government of the People's Republic of China, a photographic tour of twenty-four people from Capilano College will be visiting China. The first souch tour to be accepted into that country. the Capilano group will examine and record the way of life, the geography and the industry of the Chinese people. The group departs May 31! and returns June 22 after having visited such places as K wangchow (Canton), Peking, Shanghat. Hangchow and Sian Photography is the em phasis of this tour Before departure, students will be intruduced to the fun- damentals of photography and the methods of doing a photo essay assignment. Lectures will include aspects of composition, aesthetics and editing, as well as travel information about the areas to be visited and their local customs. . Instructor Gerry Blitstein from the Media Resources program at Capilano, has extensive experience as a freelance photographer and technical consultant, and has travelled throughout the world on assignments Dunng the tnp he will be working with cach student individually to aid them in developing their own style and unique photographs The culture and the land- scape of China afford en- diless photographic stimulus The Capilano tour will be visiting both the cities and the countryside, and although transportation will be done as a group, students will have many opportunities to be by themselves, “ex- ploring the day-to-day existence of the com- munities. After returning to Van- couver, students will edit their maternal and present it to the group. There are still places open in the China Photographic Expedition. In addition to the China tour, B.C.’s Open Learning Institute and Capilano College have joined educational forces to sponsor “learn as you go” P & O Line cruises to Scan- dinavia and the Mediter- ranean this summer and fall. Two days in London with much the same _ schedule begin the Mediterranean cruise, October 19 to November 5.
