THE following people have appeared
in North Vancouver provincial court
to face various charges:

Before Judge Bill Rodgers on Feb. 15:

Azam Hamdam, 34, of North Vancouver,
received 12 months’ probation after he pleaded
guilty to assaulting a woman between Dec. 24,
1998 and Feb. 1.

Hamdam was prohibited from possessing
guns or explosives for five years. An Arabic
interpreter was required for court.

Befor: Judge Ellen Burdett on Feb. 12:

Thomas Kicran Lawlor, 53, of North
Vancouver, was fined $250 after he pleaded not
guilty to impaired driving, but instead pleaded
guilty to the lesser or included offence of dri-
ving without due care and attention.

Lawlor entered into 2 $500 peace bond
(recognizance) in which he promised not to
drive for six months.

The original charge stemmed from a Nov.
15, 1997 incident in West Vancouver.

Michael Paul Dobinson, 22, of North
Vancouver, received a nine month conditional
sentence and 24 months’ probation after he
pleaded guilty to three charges of break, enter
and theft in North Vancouver District houses
in:

@ the 2500-block of Bosweil Avenue on Oct.
29, 1998
@ the 4100-block of North Dollarton Highway
on Oct. 20, 1998;
& the 500-block of Dollarton Highway on Oct.

cony with his wife’s jewelry
box at his feet. Suspect
climbed down over railing.

$1,064.71 restitution. He was required to per-
form > 72 sours of community work.

Before Judge Reginald Grandison on
Feb. 11:

Afsin Mirhuscyini, 31, of North Vancouver,
was fined $500 after he pieaded guilty to
breaching a peace bond by contacting a person
on Feb. 1] in North Vancouver City.

Before Judge Jerome Paradis on Feb. 10:
Shann Lyle Garon, 21, of West Vancouver,
was fined $200 and received six months’ pro-
bation after he pleaded guilty to stealing mer-
chandise belonging to Sears Canada on Sept.
22, 1998.

Joshua King Straker, 21, of Surrey, was jailed
30 days after he pleaded guilty to stealing mer-
chandise belonging to Sheil Canada on Nov.
19, 1998 in North Vancouver District.

The jail sentence was to be served at the
same time as another jail sentence.

Before Judge Reginald Grandison on
Feb. 10:

Terry Blake Scott, 28, of no fixed address,
was jailed four months after he pleaded guilty

between Sept. 1, 1997 and Oct..5, 1997 in
North Vancouver City; .

Neil Scott. Breiddal, 28, of North
Vancouver, was fined $200 after he pleaded
guilty to two shoplifting charges:

@ on April 4, 1998 at London Drugs in North
Vancouver City;

@ on April 27, 1998 at Save-On-Foods in
North Vancouver City.
