Team Up program teaches teamwork

Grizalies understand that in
order to succeed, they mist
offer more than flashy enrer-
tainment -— they mast make
an cflort: to integrate with
the local community on a
grassroots fevel.

This is where programs
such as Team Up come in to
play.

Team Up is an NBA int
lative created to help stu-
dents develop leadership and
teamwork skills.

And according to Richard
Cohee, Manager of
Community Relations ior the
Grizzlies, “how much, how
far and the degree of player
involvement is decided “by
the franchise.”

And according to project
co ordinator Lianne Duns-

Team Up, like Learning
Together, is all about: youth
and what it can offer to the
world. Teenagers only need
the opportunity, and the rest
will follow,

The Grizzlies plan to do
theit part. Due to the popu-
larity: and) success: of Team
Up. it will likely be expanded
to inghide more sessions for
the upcoming NBA. season
and school vear.
