WEST VANCOUVER and Crime Stoppers are asking for
the public’s help in finding the people responsible for an
approximate $250,000 arson on May 13 near Pier 101.

A mold for a commercial fibreglass boat hull went up in
flames around midnight. Police say people purtying in the
area had a fire lit prior to the suspected arson. Police say
the group left as soon as the boat blaze started.

Anyone with information about the identity of the sus-
pects or any information about this investigation is asked to
call Crime Stoppers at 669-TIPS.

Charity hockey

NORTH VANCOUVER RCMP officers will team up with
other Lower Mainland Mounties in a charity hockey game
on Jan. 26 against the Vancouver Canucks Alumni team at
the Burnaby Eight Rinks.

Donations raised go to the Canadian Cancer Society and
a park bench in honor of Larry Ashley, the Vancouver
Canucks’ medical trainer who died of cancer in September.
‘Fhe bench is slated to be placed near General Motors Place.
The Larry Ashley Memorial Challenge starts at 6:30 p.m.
