Young violinist makes debut

A WEST Vancouver boy is mak-
ing his orchestral debut with the
White Rock String Orchestra to-
night,

Violinist Ryan Karchut, 12, will
be performing Mozarst’s Concerto
in G Major at the Peace Portal

Alliance Church in Surrey.
Karchut has studied violin since

the age of three. This year he
completed six years of studies in
just three years, receiving three
consecutive silver medals for the
highest grades in the province.

The young whiz has been
selected by the Coquitlam Music
Festival as their junior repre-
sentative at this year’s B.C. Festi-
val of the Arts in Trail, B.C.
