Tp.m. Volunteer board named LYNNE BOGARDUS was elected president of the North Shore [n- formation and Volunteer Centre at its recent annual meeting held in West Vancouver. The meeting marked 14 years of service to the North Shore by the centre, which started originally as two separate committees, under the United Way, operating a Vol- unteer Centre and 2 Regional In- formation and Referral Centre. The Legal information Counselling Service began in 1982. This past year, the centre has un- dertaken a major project, funded by Health and Welfare Canada, to demonstrate the effective delivery of legal and financial services to seniors. Staff members presented an overview of all the programs of the centre to illustrate the centre’s mission of linking people with services. Virginia Beirnes, the outgoing president, noted that the centre has experienced a year of transi- tion. The changes include new staff for the Legal Services and the E!- derly project, the coming retire- ment of executive director Margaret Ramsay and the recent 0 OFF retirement of information coor- 0 dinator Dawn Montgomery. The ALL GOLF SETS ALL new executive director, Charles Boesen, will begin in July.
