ELECTORAL RIDING
Name should reflect NV

Dear Editor:

The recent Fisher Redistribution Commission recommended the cre-
ation of four electoral ridings on the North Shore.

It has been proposed that one of the ridings should be called ‘*West
Vancouver-Capilano.’’ The proposed riding consists of that part of West
Vancouver east of 22nd Street and all of North Vancouver City and
District north of the Upper Levels Highway and west of Lonsdale.

Both North Vancouver and West Vancouver municipa! halls are
located within the proposed boundaries. 1 understand that 49 per cent of
the population will reside in West Vancouver and 51 per cent of the pop-
ulation will reside in North Vancouver.

In my opinion, the proposed name does not reflect the fact that North
Vancouver is an important part of the riding and I would strongly
recommend that anyone concerned write to the premier, Parliament
Buildings, Victoria, and urge that a more neutral name such as
“‘Capilano’’ or ‘‘Lions Gate’’ be adopted.

Publishing name corrected

Dear Editor:

I was pleased and flattered to read the article about me and my efforts
in teaching about world religions in the Wednesday, Sept. 6 issue of the
North Shore News. However, there was one erroz that must be corrected.

Mr. Becker gives the name of my publishing company as Heritage
Press. Heritage Press is the North Vancouver printing company that
priuts my books for me. It is owned by Ed Eduljee, a close friend.

My publishing company is Bentley West Publishing, 1942 Charles St.,
Port Moody.

That one error aside, | was pleased with the article, and I hope it en-
courages your readers to attend my course at Carson Graham on Sept.
30.
