Articles have enhanced public awareness on the need; recognized the Kiwanis Foundation, Lions Clubs, the Francescans Outreach Society, the Lions Gate Rotary Club and many other service clubs for contributions of CPR training equipment; as well as promoted specific classes conducted by the YMCA Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation Program, which has trained 8,600 people through 56 different organizations since 1981. The firsts YMCA coordinator, Anita Tetrault Callahan (RN), was appointed provincial coordinator of CPR ror the province of B.C. Her YMCA replacement, Lee Clark (RN. BSN) developed the baby saver program and is now serving the provinve as the Justice Institute's coordinator for advance programs for the Emergency Health Services Academy. The North Shore News is to be complimented for the significant role it has played in contributing to the development of CPR programs in the Lower Mainland in general and the North Store in particular.
